Is it free?

The download is free, and so is trying it. You can install it, open any FM26 save, search, browse, and make any edit.

Your edits show up as pending, so you can see exactly what would change. To save them into your game, you need a licence. That is €5.99, paid once.

What does the licence cost?

€5.99, paid once. There is no subscription. Every FM26 Live Editor update is included.

Can I get a refund?

No. Licences are non-refundable.

This is why everything can be tried for free first. Download it, open your own save, look at every editing option and see your changes as pending edits. Buy only when you are sure it does what you need.

How many computers can I use it on?

Up to 3 computers with one licence.

Your licence lives in the License Manager on FM Scout. From there you can download your licence file at any time. Double-click the file and the app is activated.

The License Manager also has a Device Manager. If you stop using a computer, remove it there and the slot is free again.

Which versions of the game does it work with?

FM26 on Steam, Epic, Game Pass and Game Pass Console. It needs Windows 10 or 11.

It does not run on Mac.

Does it work with older FM versions?

No. FM26 Live Editor only works with FM26. It does not work with FM24 or older games.

FM27 Live Editor is planned for FM27.

Does it work on Linux or Steam Deck?

Linux is not officially supported, and we have not tested it ourselves.

One user got it working with Proton. The key is that FM26 Live Editor must run inside the same Proton prefix as FM26. If you add it to Steam as a separate game, Steam gives it its own prefix, and then the Load Game button finds nothing.

Their fix was a small script that starts the editor with Proton's runinprefix command, pointed at the FM26 prefix.

What happens when a new FM26 patch comes out?

So far, FM26 Live Editor has been updated within 2 hours of every game patch, often in less than one hour.

When the fix is only about the new patch, there is nothing to download again. Close the app, open it again, and it picks up the fix on its own.

Does it need administrator rights?

No. It runs as a normal app.

Is the app signed?

Yes. Since version 1.15.10 the app is code-signed by FM Scout. You can check this in the file's Properties, under Digital Signatures.

Is it safe? Can it break my save?

Every change you make goes into an edit history. Nothing is written until you click Save, and you can undo edits afterwards too.

Changes stay in your career only when you save the game in FM. Like with any editor, a wrong change can still cause problems, so keep a copy of your save before big edits.

Will there be an FM27 Live Editor?

Yes. FM27 Live Editor is planned, and the aim is to release it as soon as possible after the game comes out.
